“Stay Clear To Your Vision, But Guess What It Could Change”

So this past year I”ve evolved and been through lots of changes. Changes in my character, routine and life. I have so much to say to you all. But will try to stick to my point. Ha! Often in life when we allow ourselves to to grow we change and head in new directions in our career or path. One of my mentors said, “When we grow we sometimes feel like we have outgrown our current job or situation. Our mindsets can be different than others we are around. Our attitudes or desire to climb to the next level are strong in our hearts in spirits. That is a sign that you are growing!

I’ve felt these types of feelings a lot this year. I had all these plans and ideas to one day totally thinking what the hell am I doing? I don’t even think I want this any more. Now it wasn’t something that happened over night. As months went by I continued learning about myself and what I wanted in my life. How would we ever know what exactly we want if we don’t take steps. It’s the action steps that help us direct us down the correct step we need to take. And believe me I’ve had my share of mistakes! When we grow we change. Yes, that’s possible people. There is that word, “change”. That can make us so uncomfortable. We fear and second guess ourselves. That still voice inside that is speaking to us is trying to tell us something.  How many of us know what the voice sounds like? Or are we drowning it with negative self talk? Or thoughts we have heard from society?

So last week I felt a complete sense of overwhelm. I love social media, I really do. But it’s so important to unplug and reconnect with yourself and what your focus is. There are so many sales groups, so many businesses, so many distractions that can keep us from creating or pursuing what we need to purse. We need to have boundaries. So I’m going to share with you some things I do to help me reset and stay clear to my vision. I’m writing this all for you because I know I’m not alone here. I want to help other women out there feel confident in the direction and path they are taking. Because your path and goals are important. They matter!

  • Take a social media break. Oh, really Jess? Haha I know that is so hard to do but you can do it. I have deleted Facebook app from my phone because it has been so easy to just click on my app on my phone. Lately, I will just use the weekend to unplug and go outside, explore, spend time with family and friends. We aren’t going to miss anything!! It will all be there when you get back I promise.

  •  Stop comparing yourself! Helen Keller quote that I love, “Comparison is the Thief of Joy” Look it is ok, to cheer on your other friends and all their accomplishments. But sometimes we allow it to steal our joy. We consume our minds with other ideas that really take away from the vision in your heart. Even confusion can enter in there. Ever felt that? Maybe you feel like you aren’t sure which direction to take in your career or life. Make a list of all your accomplishments big and small. Take some time to “think” and brainstorm things you may have always wanted to do or feel passionate about. I will have a post on this soon. I have lots to share on this!

  • Do what makes you happy. When you make time for things you enjoy it has a major effect on your attitude and can help you with getting clarity for your life.

I hope these ideas resonate with you and I would love to hear from you on how you stay clear to your vision!  Comment below.
